Darren McGrady – Royal Chef

Darren was the personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Diana, Princess of Wales and Princes William and Harry for fifteen years and has cooked for five US Presidents.

He has appeared on Oprah, CNN’s Larry King Live, the Fox News Channel, BBC, CBC, MSNBC and Sky Television. He even appeared on Fox and Friends covering the Princess Diana Memorial, on CNN covering the Royal Wedding and cooked on the Today Show and CBS Early Show in New York.
It was Darren’s self confidence and belief in the Monarchy after watching Charles and Diana’s wedding that he knew he wanted to cook at Buckingham Palace.
In just a few months from that fateful day, Darren began working in the Royal Kitchens. Over the next eleven years as he traveled the world with the royal family, cooking for them on a day-to-day basis, he became part of their lives. Becoming such a familiar face in the royal kitchens to Princess Diana that when her and Prince Charles separated the Princess requested Darren move to Kensington Palace to cook for her, William and Harry as their private chef.

His personal friendship with the family, interaction in their day to day lives and watching the difference Princess Diana made in peoples lives first hand is the basis of his passion and inspiration today.
Whether it’s a one-on-one with Oprah, hosting a tea-party for 40 or a cooking demonstration for 4,000, Chef McGrady entertains and engages his audience with his ever present wit and charm.

Darren is highly respected as a Royal Expert when discussing the inner workings of Buckingham Palace. He has hundreds of unique experiences and memories from his fifteen years of royal service. From the type of food prepared for Kings, Queens and Presidents to the culinary preferences of each member of the royal family.
