Athletes: Swimming, Dagny Knutson

One of the nation's top up and coming female swimmers, Dagny Knutson is ready to take the world by storm. A US National Team Member, 2008 Olympic Trials Finalist, and former American record holder, Dagny started swimming when she was nine years old in her home state of North Dakota. Later in her career, in that same state, she caught everyone's attention as a breakout high school swimmer.

Dagny is a four-time short course national champion and five-time gold medalist at World Youth Championships. At the 2008 FINA World Youth Championships, Dagny won the 400 IM, 200 IM and 200 Free. She also part of the relay team that earned silver in the 800 free relay at the 2009 Fina World Championships.

Dagny holds the North Dakota record for the 100y butterfly, she is also a two-time National High School Swimmer of the year and four-time National High School record holder. In 2011, she swam on the 4x200 freestyle relay winning gold at the Fina World Championships.

Working towards her goal of becoming an Olympic Gold Medalist in London and Rio, Dagny recently relocated to Southern California to Gainesville, Florida to train with 2012 Olympic Head Coach Gregg Troy.
